Things People Ask Me Before We Get Started

All sessions are held online, which many clients find surprisingly comfortable and convenient — no commute, no waiting room, just you and me. Sessions are conducted using Telehealth by SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a unique link with each appointment reminder.
For a more seamless experience you can download the Telehealth by SimplePractice app for Apple or Android devices.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, which is the standard therapy hour. If you'd like more time, longer sessions can be arranged in advance.
Some couples prefer 100-minute double sessions, which allow for deeper conversation and more room to work through what's coming up together.
-
The standard fee for a 50-minute session is $250. Longer sessions are pro-rated — for example, a 100-minute double session is $500.
A credit card is kept securely on file and payment is processed on the day of each session.

You can schedule through my secure client portal or by reaching out via email or phone.
Frequency is flexible — some clients prefer weekly, others bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed. I typically recommend weekly sessions at the start, or when you want to immerse yourself more deeply in the work. You're welcome to choose what feels right, or we can figure it out together.
If you'd like a regularly recurring schedule, it's often easier for me to set that up on my end — just let me know and I'll take care of it.
-
The Client Portal is powered by SimplePractice, a secure HIPAA-compliant system I use for scheduling, messaging, payments, and paperwork. Before your first session you'll receive a link to complete your intake forms online — it's thorough, so plan for about 20 minutes.

Every session is different, but you can expect a space that feels warm, curious, and free of judgment. My style is interactive and inquisitive. I also know when to be quiet, my attuned presence holding the space while you're deep in your own process. Together we'll explore whatever is alive for you — your thoughts, emotions, and what you're noticing in your body — in a way that feels collaborative rather than clinical.
For couples and pairs, sessions focus on helping you understand each other more deeply — expressing needs more clearly, becoming more responsive to one another, and navigating whatever brought you in, whether that's communication, betrayal, a major life transition, or finding a respectful path through a separation.
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with me and my style. If something isn't working or you have questions, please bring it up — that kind of honesty is part of the work, and it helps me support you better.

My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, integrating body, mind, heart, and true nature. I work with clients seeking not just relief from symptoms but a deeper sense of self-awareness and fulfillment — both personally and in their relationships.
Curiosity is at the core of how I work. Together we explore your internal experience — thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and energy — with openness and care. As your awareness expands, so does your ability to respond to life's challenges with greater intention and flexibility, rather than reacting automatically. That growing insight creates more space between what you feel and how you choose to act. Sometimes it also means learning to accept what's happening — not as resignation, but as a way to move forward with clarity and alignment.
I draw from a range of modalities, meeting you where you are rather than following a fixed method:
Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology — emphasizing personal growth, authenticity, and connection to deeper meaning
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — working with inner parts to heal wounds and develop self-leadership
Somatic and Body-Focused work — tuning into what's happening in your body to support nervous system regulation and trauma resolution
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness — identifying unhelpful thought patterns and cultivating present-moment awareness
Brainspotting — accessing the brain and body's natural ability to process and heal unresolved trauma and emotional distress
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — helping individuals and couples strengthen emotional bonds
The Gottman Method — helping couples improve communication and strengthen their connection
My work is always guided by respect for your lived experience, your pace, and your capacity for healing. I'm deeply committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space for clients of all backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples.

You can cancel online up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full.
Since SimplePractice doesn't allow cancellations within that 24-hour window, just reach out to me directly — a text or voicemail works great. The sooner the better, and I always appreciate the heads up.

Two free apps make it easy to manage your therapy experience from your phone or tablet:

Both are available for Apple and Android devices.

I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#81823) in California, and I work with clients throughout the state via online therapy.
This includes the San Francisco Bay Area — San Carlos, San Mateo, Redwood City, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto — as well as Southern California, including Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, such as Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, and Calabasas.

I'm an out-of-network provider, which means session fees are paid directly at the time of service. I don't bill insurance or process claims, but I can provide a superbill — an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
A couple of things worth knowing: insurance companies require a formal mental health diagnosis to consider any reimbursement claim, and they may request access to parts of your clinical record as part of their review process.
If you're thinking about using out-of-network benefits, I'd recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your coverage before we get started.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance (“private pay”) an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800.985.3059.
